Yearly exams to evaluate pet for changes due to aging that may require intervention to prolong healthy life. Comprehensive physical exams which monitor:
Body weight
Musculo-skeletal changes and condition
Heart and circulatory system
Dental hygiene
Social/Behavioral Changes
Possible presence of diseases which may be communicable to other pets in the home or to the people in the home
Routine parasite testing:
Blood bourn parasites
Intestinal parasites
External parasites
Sick or injured animal exams. Careful consideration of the following:
Complaint which caused the client to bring in the pet for evaluation
History provided by the client of this problem
Comprehensive physical exam, considering complaint and history.
Development of diagnostic plan to address the problems and findings of the exam
Results of diagnostics which can be run at that time with MRAH diagnostic equipment
Development of a care plan based on the results on the client history, physical exam findings, and diagnostics.
Special Testing:
Dogs or cats on Phenobarbital or other anti seizure medication are tested at intervals which vary depending on most recent test results.
Dogs on thyroid supplementation are tested one month after starting a new dose and yearly after that.
Cats on Methimazole are tested one month after starting a new dose and then every 6 months after that.
Dogs on daily or frequent NSAID therapy are tested every 6 months.
Dogs and cats on heart medications are seen every 6 months and testing is done based on results of a physical exam.
